In some cases (and for certain clients), creating accounts and managing login information creates too much friction.
If you're in that situation, you're likely looking for a way that clients can upload documents to you without needing to create an account.
Foyer offers a easy way that you can collect files from clients without logging in called Foyer SafeDrop.
Foyer SafeDrop is a page on your client portal that can be found at "/upload" (for example: "https://example.usefoyer.com/upload") which allows clients to upload files to your business without clients needing to create accounts.
If you have any issue finding your Foyer SafeDrop link you can also find it by logging into Foyer using an admin account, clicking "Org" on the left drawer, then scrolling to the bottom and click "SafeDrop Settings". Your Foyer SafeDrop link will be displayed on the top of the page.
Below you'll see what your Foyer SafeDrop page looks like (although of course, it will have your branding instead):
Foyer SafeDrop will ask your clients for some basic information:
The first name, last name, and email address are how you will identify who uploaded files, and the files can include any information you need to collect from clients.
When a client submits a SafeDrop, Foyer will create a Space that is shared with the client and all Staff members of your organization.
The client will be able to login via email verification to access any files they previously uploaded, or access any files/messages you send to them via the Space that was created from their SafeDrop.
In addition to the files that can be uploaded via SafeDrop, any information sent via the "Message" field will be displayed as a chat message within the Space that was created.
Depending on how your business works, you'll have different ways to integrate SafeDrop into your business process.
If you have a website (or if you use a website builder like SquareSpace, Wix, Wordpress), you could distribute your SafeDrop link ("/upload") by adding a menu bar item (on the top of the page) that says "Upload Files".
You could also add your SafeDrop link to your email signature (e.g. "Upload files to me here").
Otherwise you can always just send the SafeDrop link on-the-fly whenever you have a client who needs to upload files.
Like I shared above, whenever a client creates a SafeDrop, Foyer creates a new Space for that client, and adds any submitted files and messages to it (and that client is added as a member along with all Staff of your organization).
Even if the same client uploads two SafeDrops, it will create a new Space each. This is just the default setting that Foyer provides, but we also support a way to make all SafeDrops from the same user to go to one single space.
To make all SafeDrops go to the same space (per client), you just have to turn on the "Single Space for User" setting found on the "SafeDrop Settings" page. You can find that page by logging in to Foyer with an admin account, clicking "Org" on the left drawer, then scroll down and find the "SafeDrop" section, click "Settings". Finally enable the "Single Space for User" setting.
Here's how the setting looks:
