To interact with clients in Foyer, you can create a Space with any number of clients and staff. Spaces are secure places to transfer files, chat, and sign documents. Both clients and staff can upload files, and when you are done you can archive the space to keep a carbon copy record of your client's records.
Foyer's interface is intuitive and is similar to software that most people already know how to use. Our messenger is similar to WhatsApp, and iMessage and our file explorer is a similar experience to macOS and Windows. You and your clients will have all the modern features you would expect like message read receipts, file previews and thumbnails.
Filecamp has Files, which are similar to Foyer's Spaces, but you can only store files and comment on specific files. Sending messages to clients or clients can only be completed on a per file basis. Filecamp is built with storing and processing creative assets, while Foyer allows for a more interactive environment to approve artwork and collaborate.
Filecamp's file explorer can also be difficult to use. Unlike Filecamp, Foyer lets you easily drag and drop files around such as in a folder within the application. In addition, Foyer gives users the option to show files and folders as large thumnails or in a windows explorer or macOS like view.
Foyer has simple pricing. You get all our features for any one of our plans. Our Standard plan has all our essential features for only $19/internal user/month. If you need a custom domain and email, you can use our Premium plan for only $39/internal user/month.
Price Information Collected March 2024
Filecamp has three pricing tiers that are primarily based on amount of storage that can be used and the features that come with each tier. Filecamp pricing has additional costs when more storage is needed as well. We based our estimate above from the "Individual" plan which is $29/month.
Foyer is more cost effective, modern, and intuitive while providing the same high grade digital asset management workflows that Filecamp users are looking for. You and your clients will spend too much time understanding the dated Filecamp interface, when you could use Foyer which is designed to be similar to modern apps you and your clients already know how to use and packed with more features.
While there are many services out there to consider, we think the best Filecamp alternative is Foyer. That's because Foyer includes everything you will need from a client portal at a great price. You get all the features you'd expect from a Filecamp alternative like secure file sharing, secure messages, e-signatures, custom forms, and even a full website builder. All of that at just $19 per month per staff user.
It can be tricky to migrate your data off of Filecamp, but it is possible. Every case is a little different, because it depends which Filecamp features you've used. For that reason, we have personalized support for migrating your data off of Filecamp and on to Foyer. For help migrating, including setting up Foyer to be just like your Filecamp setup, contact our support team.
Whether or not a service is too expensive ultimately depends on your budget, but when you compare Filecamp to similar services, like Foyer, you'll find that there are other services out there that provide similar features for less.
As a comparison, to get all of Filecamp's features you'll pay at least $348 per year (as of March 2024) while you can find a Filecamp alternative like Foyer, at $228 per year (per staff user).
To know if using a different service is right for you, make sure to write down a list of all the most important features your business needs. Then, only consider the options that are both in your budget, and have those essential features.
